Communist Chinese got their facts wrong. Yuan Dynasty was Mongol, not Chinese Empire. Tibet was independent during Ming Dynasty. Tibet was vassal state of Manchu Qing Empire but Manchus never made Tibet part of China & Manchus were not Chinese. Tibet was completely independent 1912-1951 until Communist China invaded.
