There were not as many marching clips in this movie as I thought....

If anyone knows how to get rid of the black lines above and below the video, the info would be appreciated.

Gettysburg is a movie by Ted Turner Studios.

The Civil War is a musical by Frank Wildhorn, Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy.

"In Great Deeds" os a quote by Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain.

  • Very well done. The movie 'Gettysburg' sits here beside me, and I'll be watching it again come tomorrow. I'll have to start looking into this musical now as well.

What a debt we owe to fierce patriots like Buford and Chamberlain.

And anyone who isn't already should be reading the Disunion series @ the New York Times online. Excellent stuff.

It all started 150 years ago next week, ya'll.

  • Great song . Great movie. Gret video

  • at the beginning that are epic words from john buford! XD

  • @bullyboy1863 Quite true about NY cavalry. One can say overall they won that fight by their actions on on Day One. Interestingly no units from my state fought at Gettysburg. They were primarily with Sherman.

  • @ia57man Lots of it was new york cavalry my friend..Us new yorkers gave them rebs a helluva run for their money on the first second and third day ^-^

  • Love this video..its one of my favorite songs.

  • Meade actually wanted to fight the battle further back toward Washington, so his supply lines would be shorter and less exposed to Reb cavalry.

  • This is a beautiful music video!! Very well edited and very well done. Gettysburg is my favorite movie of all time and I do music videos myself of it a lot.

But this is was just a wonderful video. I like the song too, I've heard a few songs from that musical before, which I like also. Anyway, like I said before, great job!

  • Buford's brigades were well known for their fighting ablities.
