No one on Youtube (that I know of at least) had this version of "Had to be you" so I thought I'd make a VERY simple and quick video. =P

[I don't own Frank Sinatra or this MP3. Thanks.]

It saddens me that something as timeless and classic as this Frank Sinatra song is mentioned in something as horribly written and tasteless as 50 Shades of Grey.

Uh, what does this have to do with 50 shades of grey? I thought that book was about bondage or something. Was it mentioned in the book?

From Frank's highly acclaimed "Trilogy" album of 1980. Remarkable performances for a man of 65 then past his prime as the greatest popular singer of his era.

Thats not the root of the probem with 50 shades. It's not because he's some ultra conservative It's just a poorly written fan fic.

I totally dig Harry C's version as well, I did not hear this one that much growing up. Of course there was piano there and not 'big band' going on with the newer version. I can't decide for myself either.

It amazes me how people only think about the obvious in 50 Shades of Grey. The book, in of itself, is NOT about sex. It's about the changes and the development of a caring, heart-felt relationship that touches the hearts of many people. It gives hope that even the most far-gone people can be brought back to normalcy with the proper care and affection. Regardless of whether one appreciates the book or not, is beside the point. This song is a pure classic. Enjoy it, and forget about the book.

Is not only about bondage or sex, you have to read the book to understand why and yes it was mentioned, in the second book of the saga.

I can't decide which version I prefer. I really like what Harry Connick Jr. did with this song. He made it more charming and less soulful. Personally, I think the lyrics best suit charming, but that's me.

I feel all the time lonely and suspect most folks listening to Frank Sinatra sing "It Had To Be You" on YouTube are just as lonely, just as sappy, just as wanting that spark in life given only by romance. Here's to being always on the verge of something magic.

Yeah, let's focus on it being used in the wonderfully well written and memorable movie, How Harry met Sally :)
