Most of those who speak this way weren't there... He will always be my Papa John, the Good Pope. Those since have paled compared to his model. The Church is a garden to be tended, not a museum; the past 20 years have been hard to bear as those too weak in faith and too frightened in life have tried to stifle the living flame...but the Holy Spirit will guide them out of it if we are all patient and loving.

@auntbecky Bite your tongue. Christ's church was never a poor excuse of anything. The "powers that be" are not trying to bring the church back to pre Vatican II, but faithfully enact what Vatican II was trying to implement, as was never done. There was nothing wrong with Vatican II as I am sure you agree, just people's self-serving implementation of it. If you are truly faithful to Christ's church and what Vatican II "actually" taught, you should support what is going on.

@MyBetty111 I haven't found anything about him being a Freemason. And if he was, do you think the church would keep him around? He'd be excommunicated in a heartbeat. Sure, I don't really like some of the Vatican II stuff, like the Lay readership and girls taking the place of boys in the eucharist thing (I don't know the names of these things) and a few other things. But whatever harm there is, is not that great. I'm sure.

Unbelievable! I love Bob Hoskins! He's one of my favorite actors. I've always wanted to see him doing a private eye kind of movie, very serious. He'd do very well in that.

He was a secret Freemason. He was not a good pope. He was afraid to release the Third Secret of Fatima despite the Virgin Mary's wish. He created a pastoral Council that caused jmuch mayhem and harm to the Church.

@MyBetty111 He did not cause harm to the Church. He tried to bring it around to what Christ meant it to be. Unfortunetly, the more recent powers that be are trying to take it back to poor excuse it was.
