WW1 MG 08/15 Maschinen Gewehr CAD file: http://www.air-sharp.com
The MG 08/15 is a lightened version of the MG 08 designed by Hiram Maxim, The MG08 was most likely made in response to the British troops using the very reliable and heavily armed Lewis Gun This may also be a result of the Germans having no similar or suitable light machine gun at the onset of WW1. The MG 08 and still has water cooling, unlike the Lewis and the Hotchkiss, which were air cooled.
First issued to troops in 1915, about 300,000 were produced during the war at the Spandau Arsenal, giving the German machine gun its legendary name.
This example is a commissioned airsoft custom build by Killbucket. Made to depict weapons seen in active service during WW1, its first mission is to be a reliable and rugged custom airsoft gun, fully skirmishable. The gun is designed around a G&P Airsoft M249SAW gearbox and inner barrel assembly. This hot rodded airsoft gun will see service in PA with Keeper of NEPA-Airsoft.
Also included in the custom gun is an authentic drum magazine, but the usual form of feeding the gun was via a 50 round ammo belt.
Created for Keeper of NEPA Airsoft: the MG 08/15, made on my Shopbot CNC. http://www.air-sharp.com
