My most recent average of 12 for the race to sub-20 thread.

Average: 21.63

Times: 23.88, (30.02), 18.90, 24.03, 21.23, 20.35, (17.84), 17.85, 23.37, 22.64, 20.59, 23.47

I'll probably only leave this up for a few days, just to get feedback. I guess I can see immediately:
1. I have a death grip on the cube. That comes from fear of dropping it during BLD. :)
2. Too much wrist action, especially for OLLs, but really throughout.
3. Yes, I did the wrong PLL on the second one. I was nervous. :)

Besides those obvious things, what else can I improve?

  • You need to practise your turning speed! :)

  • What cube is that Mike? Storebought perhaps?

  • Other then your death grip i think that the main reason some of your solves are slow is because of your TPS and fringertricking. Like you said too much wrists. Especially when you do opposite cross and have to do a D2 to adjust it. You use your whole hard which could be used for starting F2l if you used your wring finger to do the D2. Also maybe you need to lube your cube or use a faster one. The one you use seems like it turns hard and slow. Hopefully this helps!

  • youll be sub20 before you know it mike

  • @labmut11891 no, I said he should work on it. solving the cross blindfolded is completely unrelated to solving the cube blindfolded, unless he wants to solve the cross in over 20 moves. >_>

  • @LNOL of course I do? even if he's heard this advice before, it's worth hearing, as it's important.

  • Doing slow turning averages and trying to eliminate any pauses at all and then just speeding up slowly as you go through the solve helped a lot with recognition. Hope it helps, you're still the man at BLD.

  • Work on TPS, especially during your algorithms. You don't need to use that grip during speedsolves, although it's probably not horrible for BLD. Like other people said, work on the cross, and looking ahead. I would work on at least partial CN too, but that is the least helpful thing you need right now.

  • @TheAccidentalFreak That comment makes me laugh. Do you know who this is?

  • Mike, you really need to stop using thumb for U/U' and use pointer finger for F, instead of wrist. Otherwise, just turn fast. xD
