My husband and I just got back from a tour of Italy and were surprised to learn that the story of Pinocchio came from that country. So I have recently gone back and watched this movie to see if there were many Italian references like I did with Aladdin when we returned from visiting Egypt, but there weren't many in Pinocchio (except for names like Stromboli). I did notice there were a lot of examples of encouraging kids to smoke in this movie, though!
