Covering the streets of Fort Pierce Police Officer Stacy Moran hosts a segment called "Maintaining Control" put together by Stacy with the assistance of WTVX in Fort Pierce with clips from large cities around the country. This video focuses on the use of crack cocaine that became rampant in the mid eighties. Before that, crack was unheard of in the Fort Pierce area but gained momentum soon after being introduced. Law Enforcement attempts to gain control of the drug trade. William Hart, Detroit Police Chief says in this video, "If we were to arrest every pusher, close down every dope pad in city or the state or in the country for that matter, that's only the symptoms that we just cured." Nick Giancana, Morgue Attendant says, "...survival, jobs, and some people can't cope with that and this is their way to get away from reality."
Throughout these videos, there will be guest appearances by Roy Hudson, Rick MacAwain, Tom Smith, Bob Spring, Doug Heinmiller, Jimmy Aikens, Joe Wirthman, Oliver Cox, Robert "Bubba" Adderly, Irving Hammrick, Rick Rust, Tony Jones, Ray Bible, Glenn Parks, Danny Parrish, Grover Cooper, James Wouters, etc. All of which were part of taking down the bad guys.
As of 2009 that PD was known to be worthless. They were afraid to arrest gang members and paramilitary factions. I worked in a facility for youth there long enough to get real disgusted with them. Officers would show up with attitude if we needed to have a banger hauled. They would openly say "who protects our families if we arrest these kids?" COWARDS! I recieved threats every day and I still did my job for a fraction of a cops salary with no benefits.
