This paradise, which is near to the town of Nuevo Mundo, is not far off from Lima city and belongs to the district of Vegueta in the province of Huara, Lima. On the west side of the Panamerican Highway Km 175 there is a signal that shows the way to this town. This attractive and immense lagoon is rougly 7 Km long. Cattails and rush vegetation frame this enormous oasis of fresh water. Villagers of the area know it as ALBUFERA (freshwater lagoon) also known as ALBUFERAS DEL NUEVO MUNDO due to its natural formation created a quarter of a century ago due to the filtrations produced by the Irrigation of the San Felipe River.
