Corporations don't have concepts of racism - they do whatever makes money and they will appease who they need to, to do it.

And there were "WHITE" and "COLORED" signs everywhere in the South during the Jim Crow days. Segregation was woven into the social fabric, written into law, and enforced by custom and tradition. Why single out Coca-Cola?

Back then everything was whites only why is everyone so dam surprised it's a new day that was the law you could only buy and sell white people study history before you pour out your soda

@scotpens Wait, they supported a segregationist governor? This is in response to a coca cola commercial that's acting like coke was there the entire time in a good way. If coke wants to participate in black history month, it should be apologizing, not acting like it was a happy drink for everyone during those times, just so that it can sell more bottles because it makes ignorant people feel good.
-
@scotpens Because coca cola is trying to attach itself to the fight against jim crow, while it did literally nothing to help during those years. Racism isn't dead, and coca cola has no place celebrating itself in relation to black history month while the fight for equality continues.

I like coke a little more now.

a whites only MACHINE... that's just awful, being racist just for the fun of it.
-
Coca-Cola used to have signs saying "White Only" for use at restaurants, when segregation was in full-effect. That's it really.

agreed.
Why do all the people on this page think this video is some sort of trick? It's funny that some people are proper pissed off by it.
This was a response to the ad that ran during the 2007 Super Bowl (see "Coca-Cola Black History Timeline" video) promoting Coke as a supporter of civil rights throughout the last century. No photos were shopped in the making of this clip.
