that is not too much for bassoons. I think most other brands store their wood longer. Before ww2 heckel stored the wood for 45 years. Now the most factories have special "aging-facilities" so they can get away with 10-20 years.
I do not doubt the quality of walter bassoons, but I have friends that have had problems with the wood of their walters (it has changed in size rendering som mechanics unusable). This is however by no means unique to walter bassoons.
