This would be the intro to an epic "OH SHIT!!!" moment.

I have often considered that exact point. It makes since, considering Yoko went for an inorganic feeling with the actual BGM. Listening to the soundtrack, you can see what I mean. There are a few instrumental pieces, but everything is mostly synth stuff. Not that it's bad. The inorganic vibe for such an organic game is oddly fitting

Ah but that's the thing, I don't think they wanted to give it an organic feel, the singer Judith said that the composer wanted to sample her voice because they wanted to make Melissa's voice 'not human'.
-
Wonderfu, but you can really tell at the higher and lower notes that it's an old game. XD

It seems to me that when the sound designers were making this, they only sampled one note and then set it up to just change pitch. Shouldn't have done that. The way a note is sung changes when going at higher and lower pitches. That's why the lower and higher notes sound off-key. I would have sampled several different notes at different pitches so I could still do the pitch shifting, but give it a more organic feel.

Y'know..
I actually sat through this entire thing and my ears didn't bleed. Amazing, isn't it?

eve has the wonderful voice i have ever herd

@gothprimal It's creepy to hear anything at night and not know why. Particularly the rythmic scraping of a rusty, metal sword across the floor.
-
As a composer this has always made me cringe, I just can't stand the voice being put through a synthesizer. It ruins all the nuances of the voice and the lower notes are just painful. It's the same reason I can't stand the original version of one-winged angel.

NEED....REAL WOMAN VOICE...*dies*
this would be creepie to hear if you just stated to hear it late at night not knowing why...lol
