Oi...did you intentionally both use different bowing on that A part? It sounds great like that, but it is really subtle. Great job on this one.

I'd put money on standard tuning. GDAE. Emmett Lundy played mostly in standard tuning, but it doesn't really matter for this one, because they never hit the fourth string.

I learned my bowing from a lot of sources from North Carolina to West Virginia. Consequently I will all too often will vary what I am doing! I should be more specific in teaching videos, but at the same time it is true also, that there are many ways to arrive at the same solution and there is no "correct" way. Every fiddler I met has has a slightly different way to execute. That said, there were, and still are to some extent, regional techniques which I believe we are still being used.

True, Lundy played most tunes in standard GDAE
(from low to high) but I play with the base up to A as is the norm in Virginia nowadays. It also makes the 3rd part ring better. Mark
