Visual Effects Reel which I made as a test for my admission in Teesside University in Advance Visual Effects module for a lateral entry in 3rd year. Compositing is left untouched.
Softwares used :
1. 3dsMax
2. Maya
3. Realflow
4. After Effects (For Post-Rendering)
All the renders were done on the following specs :
Windows 7 (64-Bit)
Intel i7 920
MSI X58 Pro-E
Corsair 6GB DDR3 (1666Mhz)
ATI Raedon 5850 Graphic Card (1GB)
1TB HDD Caviar Green
Corsair H50 Liquid Cooling

Not bad. The only issues were the camera work. The movement was not smooth enough. Most of the simulations were pretty good, although a lack of fluid mapping made some of them look a little dodgy, but they were all very high quality, if a bit unoriginal. I especially liked the vortex simulations. They looked very cool, and I imaging would look even better when rendered with Krakatoa. Most of the fluids were pretty good, but relatively low res. The particles renders were awesome. Nice reel.
