How long did all this take to make, and how many people were a part of the effort. Also, was this on survival mode, or creative mode?

The date range is at the start of the video, as well as at the date/time at the bottom of the each frame.
Each person gets a 12x12 plot of land in the downtown area shown, about 30 people were involved. Its not organized, they can just do whatever.
There's not really modes. Its a minecraft alpha server with mods that make it so we're effectively playing in a creative mode.
