Bravissimo!

Toutes les fioritures et les fleurs que je trouve de trop chez Lang Lang normalement sont demandées dans les variations ABEGG alors je lui donne un A+! Schumann ne pouvait surement pas demander mieux! Merci

What a wonderful piece of music =). Lang Lang makes me feel as if his interpretation is the most beautiful and interesting thing in the world. That's part of Lang Lang's magic... to make someone else's composition his own!

99% of the time he's not even looking at the keys... O.O
-
sheesh people. Lang lang is not an actor, he's a pianist.
-
Great schumann! Try not see his face, then you will only hear the beauty....

All the people who talk smack about Lang Lang are just haters. simple as that, They have no qualification what so ever to talk about his playing. Are they artists themselves who have worked with and collaborated with brilliant maestro's across the world? No I don't think so.

@Nkostyl Thanks. If you listen to Richter playing the same piece, you'd feel the same, this is not a piece people fall in love the first time listening to it. One thing I need to clarify, that is I never related his facial expressions to the feeling of romance, I have no clue where you got that idea from? From my old comment? Then read it again!! I merely said his version was fantastic. On the second thought, facial expressions do reflect one's heart to certain degree at least. Don't u agree?

@yuquanchen Schumann is my favourite artist. Since 4 years now, I listen to records - mainly of Kempff and Richter - several times per day. Yes, Lang Lang plays piano very well, he is a virtuoso, but I'm sorry, I didn't feel anything particular when listening this performance. Schumann was a poet, but I didn't perceived this flood of emotions usually present in his pieces. The romance comes from the heart, not from facial expressions.

@musicalidea Which is fine, if you ask me...as his agility and evenness are impeccable - esp. here - as well as the dynamic hierarchies he applies to voicing groups and the way he carefully shapes phrases with intensity modulations. He is among the more talented pianists of the last 20 years, for sure.
