Its uses cant be all encompasing if at all this is a factual phenomenon.
Eg. the end where if the world will end in 2012... Im more concerned with the fact that it didnt get a 99%...

what 'experts'?
niether of the lifelines is "ask the expert"... so this point is moot, especialliy if it's supposed to have some connection to the WWTBAM analogy

the who wants to be a millionaire point in this explanation is inaccurate. it is not a 'group' as they do not work together toward a goal. you can think of ask the audience as like phone a friend, but with more friends. hence seeing as this is a factual answer and not a decision that needs to be made, the audience average response should be the most profitable. this is due to three answers being wrong, the people that know the answer going for one, and the people that don't guessing between 4
