The original Xboxes are tanks I only had to buy one of those.
Mexico does usually make better shit then China.
The problem with the Chinese factories is they'll cut corners.
They'll make their workers put in 14+ hour days which makes for sloppiness and do stuff like swap a name brand solder for one from a Chinese company.
Foxconn made a lot of defective macbooks once because they used a solder that was incompatible with the chips.

Microsoft didn't choose the manufacturing site for X360. They contracted Flextronics, set unit prices then Flex decided to bring the whole assembly to China to make it profitable. The epidemic failures with 360 can be traced back to a combination of poorly designed cooling and unreliable lead-free soldering. It has nothing to do with the assembly sites, sorry.
