A portable generator can be a powerful tool during a power outage or natural disaster, but it can also be dangerous -- even deadly -- if not properly installed and operated. On average, 75 people are killed in the United States each year by carbon monoxide associated with the use of generators. Make sure you know how to use generators safely before you put yourself -- and your loved ones -- at risk.
