Released on the 1963 album, "Moonlight Memories". Although Tony Williams had left the Platters by this time, the master of this recording was sent to him and he overdubbed the lead vocal to create a new Platters recording with his lead. He did this for several tracks on the album. This song was a hit for Les Brown and Doris Day in 1945.

  • Bogus, a very good description! Yes, when one member left the group he/she can formed a new platters....I'll search for other items from your channel ! By the way you have 100 uploads on each of yr channels, is 100 your limit..

  • I try to limit around 1000 videos.

  • What a funny story behind the recording scene, why cant Williams simply return to the group as his solo career afterall not that good..

  • That's actually a good question. I don't know why he didn't go back.

  • What is it with music artists?? They are either alcoholics or drug addicts! So many die at a young age from these problems. This must be a very stressful business.

  • So far I discovered the platters, they are graet singers!

  • If you are fan of the original Platters as I am Please don't be offended by what I wrote. Tony did not even know that they were selling his albums on TV (in the early 70's) and he was entitled to Royalties. I also had the pleasure of having a drink with Tony on occasion.

  • From what I have learned, Tony Williams had a severe drinking problem (this I know for a fact). He and his wife split (she is the female vocalist in the group). I saw a huge portrait of her in his apartment in Manhattan. Some of the males in the group (not sure if all) were arrested for white slavery (pimps). The Platters were at a Rock & Roll show in a Brooklyn and they had to put security on Tony so he would not sneak out for a drink. With all his faults as we all have he was still the best.

  • i am in love with this song i am agree with you kyo2128 lo mejor de lo mejor

  • the platters lo mejor del mundo

  • what can i say bravo,bravo

  • Mais uma notável interpretação deste conjunto ("The Platters"), de um tema musical fabuloso ("Sentimental Journey"), a recordar-nos outras excelentes interpretações desse memorável conjunto musical, tais como "Only You", "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" e tantos outros grandes êxitos!

  • I love listening to the different versions, although I must say that I still prefer the Doris Day one, but that's just because she's a childhood favourite.

  • This is beautiful.
