The very rare sight of seven full-size WW1 Fokker Dr.1 Triplanes replicas in the air together. Each of these aircraft is painted to represent one of the aircraft/pilots that flew as part of Manfred von Richthofen's Jasta 11 in April 1918.

As far as we know this is only the second time since 1918 that seven of these aircraft have been seen in the air together at one time (the first time was in 2007).

  • Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but isn't the swastika on the baby blue plane a mirror image of the swastika we know from Raiders of the Lost Ark and other German films/history books?

  • @timrichter9 The swastika is used either right-facing form in counterclockwise motion or its mirrored left-facing form in clockwise motion. Earliest evidence of swastika ornaments dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization of Ancient India. Swastikas have also been used in other ancient civilizationsd. It remains widely used in Indian religions. After a brief surge of popularity in Western culture, the counter clockwise swastika was adopted as a symbol of the German Nazi Party in 1920

  • In a game called Battlefield 3 , F-18 Hornet and other nowadays jetfighters flyes at this same velocity.

  • FANTASTIC !!! Now we need seven S.E.5 from 56º Squadron and some paintball guns to make a big party !!!

  • When you consider how difficult those planes are to fly (let alone take-off and land), to see them in formation is breathtaking.

  • Excelenteeeeee !!!!!!!!! Jasta 11 de primera línea

  • @timrichter9 that's the difference between reality & fantasy, no nazis in the Great War, look it up.............here's your wake up call baby.............

  • @t110d93 there were no nazis in the Great War, furthermore it was a symbol of good luck at this time. there was a hockey team in Canada in 1912 known as the swastikas, were they Nazis? also the U.S. 45th division wore a gold swastika on a red diamond as their patch they changed it in the late 30's for obvious reasons..... really tho... ppl can be so misinformed & prejudgemental. time to educate oneself.

  • Beautiful video.
