How to Use an Advair Diskus Inhaler - Asthma Inhaler - Puffer - COPD

A Diskus inhaler is an easy to use dry-powder inhaler that delivers medication in a convenient and simple way.

Using a Diskus Inhaler:

1.Hold your Diskus inhaler in the palm of your hand and place your thumb on the thumb grip and slide your thumb away from you until you hear a click and the mouthpiece appears.

2.Slide the lever away from you as far as it will go. This will ready a dose of your medication. Every time you push this lever back, you will ready another dose of medication to be taken.

3.Exhale, but make sure you face away from the inhaler while breathing out

4.Now bring your lips to the mouthpiece and inhale quickly and deeply. Do not breathe through your nose.

5.Remove the inhaler from your lips, but continue holding your breath for another 10 seconds. Now breathe out slowly.

6.Make sure you close the diskus inhaler by sliding your thumb back towards you.

Store the Diskus inhaler at room temperature away from heat, sunlight, and moisture.

Here are some other important things to remember:

•Always check the dose counter before administering any medication
•Never breathe into the Diskus.
•Never take the Diskus apart.
•Always ready and use the Diskus in a flat, level position.
•Do not use the Diskus with a spacer device.
•After each dose, rinse your mouth with water and spit the water out. Do not swallow.
•Never wash the mouthpiece or any part of the Diskus. Always keep the Diskus dry.
•Never take an extra dose, even if you did not taste or feel the medicine.
•To avoid releasing or wasting doses once the Diskus is ready, do not close or tilt the Diskus, and do not play with the lever or move the lever more than once.

This is a joke of a device. The real reason they have this "Disk" is so you WILL WASTE a dose and have to buy another inhaler, which of course insurance won't cover. You can get a Advair in a traditional inhaler that you just press down on. I would do that. Don't use this piece of junk designed to waste medicine
