Temptations - Papa was a rolling stone 1998 live Released 1972
It was the third of September. That day I'll always remember, yes I will. 'Cause that was the day that my daddy died. I never got a chance to see him. Never heard nothing but bad things about him. Mama, I'm depending on you to tell me the truth.
And Mama looked at me and said, "Son, Papa was a rolling stone. Wherever he laid his hat was his home. (And when he died) All he left us was alone." "Papa was a rolling stone, my son. Wherever he laid his hat was his home. (And when he died) All he left us was alone."
Well, well
Hey Mama, is it true what they say, that Papa never worked a day in his life? And Mama, some bad talk going around town saying that Papa had three outside children and another wife. And that ain't right. Hey, talk about Papa doing some store front preaching. Talked about saving souls and all the time leeching. Dealing in debt and stealing in the name of the Lord.
Mama just hung her head and said, "Papa was a rolling stone, my son. Wherever he laid his hat was his home. (And when he died) All he left us was alone." "Hey, Papa was a rolling stone. Wherever he laid his hat was his home. (And when he died) All he left us was alone."
Mama said: I loved that man
"Papa was a rolling stone. Wherever he laid his hat was his home. (And when he died) All he left us was alone."

Yeah....Otis is a GREAT singer. Crazy range. "I Ain't Got Nothing" is a great lead. You don't stay in business for 50 years being "average". Everyone who was ever a Temp could blow....best believe that!
umm, otis can sing...he was baratone...juss cause he didnt lead songs dont mean he cant sing....and he actually did lead songs..when i get the name or names of them,i'll skool you on them.each temp had the perfect voice for the harmony you hear...if either one of them was missing from the song when they all sing together, you would notice...or anybody with an ear for music would...but otis def could sing sir
Don't Send me Away, I see My child, and For Your Love/You Send Me, are just a few. The man has also had partial leads on a slew of other songs....including I Can't Get Next To You among others. The guy has a smooth voice. He's a crooner, and when a soft ballady vocal is required, Otis does a great lead. He has sick range too, he sings first Tenor, 2nd Tenor, Baritone, and I think even a little bass, though he wont admit it. He puts his voice where its needed, in the backround.

Otis is often described as being the middle voice, he is smooth enough to blend in but necessary to make it happen.
demetriius3000 is right. Otis could sing very well.
