Yes, it is able to bypass protected DVDs.

IT'S EASIER TO DO IT THIS WAY AND IT DON'T COST ANYTHING...
1: First use the program: DVDfab6 to Copy the whole movie to the HARDDRIVE in a VIDEO-TS folder (set to "DVD9" for 100% Qaulity)
2: Then use the program: DVD-Shrink to Re-author and Copy the Movie ONLY on to the HARDDRIVE in a ISO. image.
3: Then use the program: DVD-Decrypter to BURN the ISO.image of the Movie to a 4.7 DVD-r disc.
from the internet you can Download and use DVD-Decrypter and DVD-Shrink for free.

Yes, I have used this method before and it works. I have videos that show this method. I question it's "ease of use" and speed from the standpoint of a new user. Also, one obviously does not have all of the options contained in DVDFab if they were to use the method you prescribed. Yet, to your credit, the method you prescribed works.
