This is way before my time but it's fascinating how these old shows knew how to slowly build suspense and atmosphere, rather than chucking 10 million dollar effects in your face every few minutes. The Hammer movie version of this was one of their better efforts and scared the crap out of me when I was a kid watching it on late night TV.

I remember watching this when I was about 17 ot 18 on black and white BBC TV. I still reckon it is one of the best SF stories ever made. Black magic, cabalistic signs, telekinesis and racial hate all explained in the story. The film version made years later is not in the same league as the original B & W production. Acting pretty hammy but I would watch this again. Brilliant.

Wasn't this made and shown in 1959? Quatermass II was in 1955...

I saw "5 Million Years To Earth" in the theater when I was 10 years old. That was over 40 years ago. I didn't understand the ending then, but I was thoroughly intrigued by what I saw. The story still fascinates me to this day.
