  • looks like the hammer was knicked up a bit

as he skated off, he was a jag

  • CLEAR WIN Schultz, landed much more but kudos to Galrand who replied with few times but got outlanded clearly.

  • @ProbertFire Your right he was a better than average fighter but was never the same after the Gillies beating and is image was tarnished. Never was really as intimitating after that and flyers dumped him to LA. But gillies did that to a lot of fighters { hospatar, o.reilly } and he suckered both of them to earn his wins.

  • @ProbertFire Schultz came on the Ice at the end of Garland's shift.

  • @ProbertFire I think we've been reviewing two different Schultz/Robinson fights.

They were dancing and jawing with each other forever in a fucking brawl. Neither was "getting the jump" on the other. They were both aware and perfectly ready to go. No matter. My point is that Schultz fought constantly but still couldn't even beat up a guy who got as many goals in three seasons as he got in his whole career. (like Cashman, O'Reilly, Orr, Gillies) Embarrassing! I'd take Iggy over Hammer to enforce.

  • @ProbertFire Schultz went straight into the corner and went right after the guy. He wasn't involved in the corner scrum and had no reason to start something at that point in the game. Instigated ... jumped... I'm not picky which term you pick. Another thing Schultz was known for was hopping over the boards and immediately wailing away on a guy who has just finished a full shift. For the record, Fred Shero said he never asked a player to fight. I don't believe it, but he said it in an interview.

  • @usaisadump actually if you watch the whole fight from the VERY start, it is Robinson who starts throwing punches at a not-so-ready Schultz; in fact 'getting the jump' on Schultz. Schultz took maybe ONE clean shot and that's it...it's not like he was taking 5 or 6 clean belts. It's actually a lousy fight. If you want to use a bad loss against him, use the Snepsts fight in LA. And as for Dupont coming in - that was Shero's doing, "All for one.." was his teachings, and the Flyers followed it.

  • @usaisadump Instigating is NOT jumping; get it straight. Schultz was a decent fighter - NOBODY said he was great, but to see he was no good, is being extremely biased. Had some solid wins against good competition (O'Reilly, Howatt, Cashman, Bouchard, Walker, Williams, etc) and surprising draws with two of the best in Jonathon and Behn Wilson. And in the FIRST Gillies fight, Schultz arguably got a split decision, and NO worse than a draw. He deserves some credit.
