ANCHOR:
The Japanese government is condemning the beating of three nationals in western China yesterday. According to a Reuters news report, a TV reporter and cameraman were "kicked in the face" by Chinese policemen along with a reporter for a regional newspaper. They were detained near the site of a bombing in the Kashgar region in western China.

The journalists were then taken to a police building where they were beaten, before being released about two hours later. Neither was seriously injured.

The Japanese government believes the attacks were no mistake, and plan to protest the detentions and beatings.

Japan's prime minister is set to attend the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing on Friday.

  • @lemontofu And besides, it was Germany's ideologies and Japan's brutal invasions that enabled the rise of Communism in the East in the first place. The Nationalists fell because so many had been killed by Japan's forces. The Chinese were basically poor, starving peasants dying of famine...and they did what they thought necessary to survive. If that meant Communism, well...it was either that or remain in ruin forever. I do agree that by now, the Communist regime should be overthrown, though...

  • Don't take it too personally.

The Chinese police beat anyone they don't like with impunity. Just ask ordinary Chinese citizens what they think about their own police.

  • Communism exists everywhere, it just so happens that Communists in China was able to take over at the right time. I think people forget about the thousands of years when China reigned as the most respected and civilized nation in Asia as opposed to the last 60 years of the Communist regime. I think we also forget that the Japanese chose to adopt many aspects of Chinese culture, and re-payed them by brutalizing them. Don't judge the Chinese because of what 2 idiots did.

  • geez, guys, even though im chinese and i love the japanese as much as i do cause im a otaku, dont go trollin about us,

cause even though you dont know it. when we sealed our doors to you guys for nearly a entury, our people were being killed and raped by the japanese. so don't blame our entire country if some of us still has some grudges, just sayin'

and i know, i feel for the tsunami victiss and this is a bad time.

  • Jpan should not do business with china and invest in china.

For the kind of attitude that the chinks have, the whole world should just completely stop giving china contracts , investments in china, and should be left to beg the world for economic aid like north korea.

The more the world gives the chinks business, the more bigger the heads of the chinks become. And later they start to behave like they own the world.

  • @Drowfan Maybe it wouldn't happen if Japan apologized for its war crimes. Theres a lot of animosity towards the Japanese because they won't even admit to things like the Nanking massacre.

  • that guy is not japanese.

  • @civicnation4two kudo :D ....

  • ...china needs to post 10% growth or face a civil insurrection. they are lying through their teeth and there are no independent means to verify their books. if you thought the american collapse was bad you aint seen nothing yet.....those are the words of a respected economist. stay tuned and dont ever believe the bs in this day and age...we have seen this so often and when china collapses i wont act surprised or anything either.
