I am writing a paper on Non compaction. Is there a standard in measuring Ventricle Non Compaction? I have read measure the compacted myocardium and then the noncompacted trabeculae. Where do you go from there?
Thanks.

Left ventricular noncompaction is a rare unclassified cardiomyopathy with markedly prominent apical trabeculae with deep intertrabecular recesses. These are best visualized on color flow Doppler of the left ventricle using apical windows.
The trabeculations have a spongy appearance on short axis views and should not be confused with intracavitary thrombi.
Left ventricular noncompaction may present in childhood or later adulthood. The prognosis is generally poor.
