Spain's Iberia had an interesting fleet of Boeing 747s (from the 747-100 to the 747-400) seen in this clip are of the 747-200 series only, I did get to shoot 2 of the 747-300s but never caught the two 747-400s Iberia leased. First off, 747-256B, EC-GAG is seen crabbing onto runway 13R then taking off from runway 31R at New York's JFK and the rare Rolls Royce powered TF-ABA is seen upon arriving at IBeria's base at Madrid-Barajas. When in fact, most of Iberia 747s were P&W (Pratt & Whitney powered.

  • I was in Costa Rica by Iberia (from Madrid) .. end i want to inform you: IBERIA HAVE TERRIBLE IN-FLIGHT SERVICE... food was poor, hospitality at very low level.... avoid them!

  • @mamukacool .. thanks for the insight, but most of the airlines featured in all my videos (and the vids of many others) show airlines whose inflight-service ranges from horrific to mediocre...but none of that is the point of our shooting airliners. Shooting the airliners is all this is about. But thanks for the comments nontheless!

  • No other B-747 can show off as EC-BRQ aka EC-GAG by tranporting Pablo Picasso's El Guernica!!!

It's a shame that Iberia didn't donate it to Museo del Aire luckily they preserved the nose of EC-GAG I heard.

I have grow up with jumbos and fly in all of them 7? I think Iberia had 7 jumbos and recently I flew in Airbus A380 from Singapore Airlines and in my opinion it sucks you have to wait around two hours to fit all the passengers inside... plus the seats are not as comfortable as B-747.

  • @ustickjoheadupjoculo ..actually I miss EC-BRO (everyone says 'bro' now...but Iberia said it first!) and EC-EEK (how funny is that name?) But then again, I'm not as intimately familiar with the 'uniqueness' of IB's 747s are the locals (España) are. actually... IBERIA had 9 747s EC-BRO EC-BRP EC-DIA EC-DIB EC-DNP EC-EEK EC-GAG (was BRQ) EC-HVD (was DLC) EC-IAF (was DLC) All were 747-256s except BRO & BRP..747-156s. They leased two others EC-TBA & TBY, along with (4) 747-300s and (2) 747-400s!

  • @mamukacool also ryanair and caribbean airways

  • The boeing 747 has a gear faliure on take off didnt rise it stood still , did it return to JFk it should off

  • Is it just me or that 747 taking off from NY (minute 1:38 - 1:43) has a problem with the rightmost landing gear? It does not seem to move at all. Is it always like that on all B747?

  • the 747 looked great in Iberia colours!

  • @coolharry1236 I'm guessing 2001 or early 2002 since you see a glimpse of both TWA and JetBlue planes at JFK.

  • @dammmy ..yes, I know..the lengthy discussion above should demonstrate that I'm well versed on Iberia's 747 history.

  • @Starboard76 all retired now

  • los colores y la rotulación de los aviones de Iberia creo que son los más bonitos de todas las compañías aéreas del mundo.

  • Viva Iberia: Lineas Aereas de Espana! Miss the 747 fleet, especially my favorite aircraft which I have flown in to Spain almost EVERY year back in the 1980s: "Calderon de la Barca". Nowadays, their Airbus A340 fleet is just as magnificent and I enjoy flying in them as well!

  • Pitty that 747 is not flying anymore...

  • @mamukacool Pay first class so loser hahaha

  • Viva Iberia!!!!

We used to get those at busy times in the summer at Heathrow.

  • Great vids Señor and sound! All 742's I believe?

  • Excellent video and sound work.

  • I love IBs livery on the 747!

  • Nowadays Iberia only has 340-600 and 340-300 for long-range flights

  • I like the the IB with the crown livery on 747s but I also like on A346.

  • i have this plane on my Civil Aviation poster I
