Does it make me immature if i giggled at your title "fagot" :D

Thanks.
I'm too lazy to learn to make my own reeds. I buy the reeds in the shop from the maker "Danzi" from Italy.

Check out a Fox Bassoon. I recommend a Fox 240. Got one last Summer for my son per his private teacher's preference. One of the best for students. A new one starts around $9000.

How dull this is.To try to play Vivaldi on a modern Bassoon and a Pianoforte is about as sensible as playing a Chopin Nocturne on a Harpsichord. The whole raison d`etre of the composers intentions are missing. The little nuances and tricks are nulled with Equal Temperament. So much better to listen to some of the performances on suitable period instruments(plenty on here)These instruments are now mainstream for music of their chosen period..

I'm about to start the bassoon as my 4th instrument, after Bb trumpet, bass clarinet (treble clef), and Bb clarinet.. I have learned bass clef but I'm very curious where I can find a good quality bassoon..... what is the price range for a good quality bassoon?

@bluewatch234 I would say you can get a used one for 5000$. I'm not so sure about the prices. A new professional Yamaha costs around 20.000€.

@mia500ful I bought my instrument from basoon maker Mr. Sarcevic, from Mainz. it's basically a copy of Heckel.
