I would have put my bets on Power Steering pump/ Low power steering fluid. And Id almost bet it went out shortly after.

@kpj200 There is no such thing as "near hydrolocked" If you engine is hydrolocked it wont even turn over let alone run. You cant compress water.

it might be near being hydrolocked. Just change the oil once or twice ,maybe 3 or more times depending on the depth of the water

piston chamber cause if you dont, the water will cause excessive compression in any chamber it enters and blast its way through either the head or the piston! bad...really bad! sounds like youre lucky though. hows the car running now compared to when you first started it up?? have you worked on it anymore??

well man, besides from the hissing sound, it sounds like its running fine. its hard to tell if its the water pump or a vacuum leak making the hissing sound, also poor quality sound to begin with. but thats ok. if the car was submerged under water, the plastic intake system on the motor should have been taken off and drained/checked for water pooling then spark plugs removed and engine turned over to expell any water that might have found its way that far into the motor. water in the....

nice idler pulley lol, get that replaced. mine went out on my GTP and it sounded like shit, everyone says it sounds like a beater even though its a nice car.

It's not hydrolocked at all. The alternator bearing or one or more of the pulley bearings is done.
