Marc Ribot (Newark, 1954) mag bij een breed publiek vooral bekend zijn als gitarist bij Tom Waits en Elvis Costello, maar zijn ruim dertigjarige carrière voerde hem van no wave tot free jazz, en langs werken van componist John Cage en de Haïtiaanse gitarist Frantz Casseus tot de filmmuziek van Walk the Line (2005). Los Cubanos Postizos brengen Cubaanse dance-songs op onnavolgbare wijze tot leven, met dampende ritmes, warmbloedig toetsenspel en Ribot's kenmerkende gruizige licks (© Bimhuis)
