Playboating in Cedar Falls, Iowa

The Prairie Rapids Paddlers are proposing a waterpark in Cedar Falls, IA to create a versatile recreation area for the emerging sport of freestyle kayaking (or playboating). The waterpark would be an ideal place for hosting freestyle kayak competitions, which could bring up to 30,000 people a month to Cedar Falls.

Charles city is building a white water park right now and marshaltown has been thinking of building one as well. Iowa could quickly become a whitewater park. i have heard that Charles city already has a competition schedule this year and alot of thier hotels are already filling up. they don't say that it will bring 30,000.. they say it would more than likely bring 3000...which is easy to see. hope it works out even though I dont have a playboat and only have a fishing kayak.

What a killer video! Informative and well edited. Cedar falls would be smart to get this project started as soon as possiable. I know that Charles City Iowa is in the process of building a park. "The more, the better!"
