I discus drawing people in 3d perspective then take you through the early stage of drawing a figure standing, seen from the front.

Show notes: Just starting to draw a person, before getting into the details. One of the first things to think about is where the viewer or camera is in relation to the person you want to draw? Point of view. Eye level, worm eye view, from a distance? Some of the guidelines of drawing a person not from above or bellow, but level. The horizon line would be going through the middle of a person. What makes drawings of people interesting is when their bodies are in movement and artists often subtle exaggerate that movement because in real life we pick up so much more information than can go into artwork. Anchor points for legs, head to ankle, anchor point from upper leg, here is where the leg and foot bend, you can divide these points in half. In real life people don't exactly match these guides. Nature is not proportionate and that is normal. It's normal for everyone to not match these form factors and it's a good idea to become aware of when people's bodies are different proportion than the standers. Between chest and hips a sphere is a helpful guide. There is a lot of flexibility right here. For male is 8 head heights for body, for female it's around 7 and half. I make male heads smaller compared to their bodies and females I make their heads bigger compared to their bodies.
