You're completely right on every point you've made.
I think there should be a PG-15 just like in the United Kingdom.
There's obviously an inbetween. Transformers almost got an R rating which is stupid because there's nothing wrong with it. No gore or innocent people getting killed so why?
You're right on Terminator. If it had taken out a few murder scenes, the vulgarity & Arnold's butt (and the sex scene in the 1st film), it would be PG or PG-13 at the time.

i just recently saw taken and i think that that's another great example of how films can be dark and violent, but still be pg13. and taken was very dark and violent.

the terminator movie will be good too newcomers to the series but the resaon people hate this is because
A. its not being directed by james cameron the director of the first 2 and the third was directed by a different guy which is why it sucked so god dam hard
now if james cameron was directing it it would supply what fans loved so much about the first 2, the maturity.
