Erupt-a-Cake is a cool, fun-for-kids food-making project that also gives young people hands-on experience with science. Featuring orange-flavored lava erupting from a chocolate volcano and gummy-bear dinosaurs, the cake was developed by a team of students in the School of Food Science at Washington State University and the University of Idaho.
The Washington State University and University of Idaho School of Food Science sent two food product development teams to the Institute of Food Technologists product development finals in Anaheim, Calif. Both teams, including the one featured in this video, won awards for their innovative product development work.

@mags091990 Hey, yes! We have heard of molecular gastronomy. We just heard an interview on Fresh Air with the author of Life, on the Line: A Chef's Story of Chasing Greatness, Facing Death, and Redefining the Way We Eat -- if you're interested in molecular gastronomy, you should read that book. And thanks for your comment.
