Sure. The sword was subjected to a lot of abuse. By the time Tosh came to trying to cut logs the pommel wasn't even attached to the sword (I don't know how he did that). He then overstruck it against wood until the handle failed.

I like Tosh, he's funny, but if he wants to cut wood we can send him an axe
