Soniya, the last student to introduce themselves in this video, is all bright smiles. But next to Soniya is Laxmi who is very shy. I felt bad when i saw the look on her face. But, thankfully she warmed up that day. This classroom is for children around ages 12 to 14. They all live at Udayan home for children, part of Vatsalya.org in Jaipur, India. There were 57 children living there when this video was shot in 2009. Vatsalya owns the land out in the countryside where the homes, school houses, meal hall, prayer gazebo, workshops, and rec buildings all stand. It is a beautiful place where these orphaned, abadoned, or otherwise neglected kids get their best chance possible at full healthy lives.

Recorded on September 25, 2009 using a Flip Video camcorder.
