a very little known disorder called POST ABLATION SYNDROME in which blood no longer escapes the uterus becuz of scars or a stenosed cervix. Having your tubes tied makes this syndrome even more likely. PLZ DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR GYNE BEFORE HAVING THIS PROCEDURE!!!!! Or if you have severe pain after the ablation right around your period time. You MAY need a hysterectomy!!

  • God love you for posting this. I am having major problems & I am only a month out from it. My cramps remind me of labor pains. My gyn told me all about things that could go wrong during but made it sound like rainbows and butterflies afterwards. I would rather go back to 7 day heavy periods then this. Maybe because I had a tubal few years ago it complicated things but she never said anything about it. Naproxen is a joke. Sorry for the vent. Hugs, Liz

  • @SaucyAgain yes having a tubal ligations can make the syndrome worse.. NO you are not crazy. You probably have post tubal/endometrial ablation syndrome... the ONLY fix is a complete hysterectomy. about the only thing that MIGHT help your pain aside from strong narcotic meds is hormones to "put the uterus to sleep" such as provera daily or Lupron. I do not reccomend LUPRON however based on my RN experience.

  • they need to BAN these procedures... funny but this is the only vid on youtube about this problem.. google has alot of info on it however.

  • I have searched and searched and found that there is not a lot of information on Post Ablation. I had my uterine ablation Aug. 2008. Exactly 15 months from the date I had the ablation, I was doubled over with severe abdominal pail, that first started in the Pelvic area, radiated to my Right hip, then into my abdomen. The location of the pain prompted me to go to the ER.

  • @Nurse9five google has some info on it.. but I reallly felt the need to post this vid as a sufferer myself. I could not have the hysterectomy and now on hormone therapy.

  • I KNEW I wasn't crazy!! I am in pain! I always wondered why my cramps were so much worse after this surgery. Thank you for postin ghtis and sharing!

  • @mrsbccichocki yes it's a REAL desease and I am happy to teach other woman about this:D Glad I could help you! feel FREE to use this vid to show your gyne or use for other sites. I want to get the word out!

  • Good video....wish I had researched more when I had mine in 2003...I had 2 to 3 week periods and my Gyn suggested this procedure. BIG mistake! I was burned during the surgery and had alot of uterine infections I had to have a Hyst the next year. I have had alot of medical problems that started with this...I truely wish I never had it done. Please research before and dont hesitate to ask questions.

  • for all the females out there, do your research....

  • A friend of mine, said she experienced the same thing, only to find that during her C-Section or Ablation that she developed adhesions, which is probably what's causing all the pain. The bottom line is I wish I never agreed to the ablation, as the pain has increased and leaves me so helpless that I can't even stand up straight, that how bad the pain gets. Now I have to see another specialist at Penn, to help me. I so don't want a hysterectomy, I'm 41 for Gods Sake..

  • So...I had a CT Scan done and it showed that I had a mild Umbilical Hernia. The ER doctor informed me that the hernia should be looked at but he didn't feel that was what caused me to have such pain. Long story shore, I had 4 trips to the ER regarding this pain. The symptoms were always the same. Right side lower quadrant pain, lasting up to 8 days or less, N/V, constipation vs diarrhea, a low grade temp, and I got ping ponged back and forth btwn the GYN and the GI doctor.
