Why does Mavis talk like a woman in the new series?? And in the old series he talked different as a man?

The UK version is better. The characters sound better with a British accent. Especially the fact that their faces are animated.

@ThomasPercyandToby2 well I get what you mean but was also thinking on his children's side as Hilary recently complained about winter holidays replacing christmas

@93DOL i really don't think it's right to assume what a dead man would think of what's happened. As for the ditch incident, that took place 60 years ago, when steam was pretty much common and Gordon thought he was better than everyone else. But he has learned otherwise since.

@ThomasPercyandToby2 well same here for me, but I was thinking Rev W Awdry's side of things would turn in his grave over his characters personalities being messed around with and Gordon even ran into a ditch to avoid trucks lol

@93DOL Gordon pulling freight doesn't bother me too much actually. It shows that he is more mature in that respect, and he's just happy to be in service, espeially since steam engines are a rarity these days

@ThomasPercyandToby2 yeah and Henry's welsh coal situation and Diesel turns nice etc. Also Gordon doesn't mind pushing or pulling trucks and freight.

@93DOL BluRacer's explanation would make sense. It DOES seem strange that they'd say Thomas had never pulled the mail before in The Early Bird, even by HiT's standards.

7:05 Ever since CGI the engines barley have any strength in this episode Emily is out of puff pulling Thomas when she did it ok in Thomas, Emily and the Snowplough and James and Henry struggle to pull one truck in Pingy Pongy Pick Up lol also wonder why Emily's buffer beams are now red not black?
