@IwasUnknownUser That's why I said they're baically the same thing... It doesn't matter if they're called Hmong or Miao... It's like saying every language has a name for people's nationality... Miao is Mandarin for Hmong...

@LiAiKoChAn No, they are different, Hmong are specifically referring to those people who fought for American and fled to US, Miao are just simply one of Chinese minorities. Even they share most of the culture, but because of the historical reasons, they have some minor differences. I think people should be serious to talk about these things.

@LiAiKoChAn You can use Google to know the difference, they are not the 100% same. At least, Miao is much wider than Hmong, and Hmong is mostly used by American Hmong who fled to American dozens years ago, Miao is used in China, that's all. It doesn't mean you Chinese teacher is 100% correct.
