Meet the F3 -- the electric-powered car of the future made in China. Keen to reduce its choking emissions and limit its dependence on oil, China is spearheading new clean energy technologies.
Can the world's biggest polluter become the world's biggest producer of plug-in electric cars? The swish car on display was designed by the new Chinese car manufacturer, the 'Build Your Dream' corporation (BYD). 'All of our battery can be recycled. The power is recycled so it's environmentally beneficial. The West will like it, not only China'. The new manufacturers are hoping to dominate the electric car market. 'Our ambition in 2015 is to become the China number one and we hope in 2025 we can become the world number one' says BYD's marketing manager. The F3 runs 100 km on battery power alone, which no other electric car has been able to do. Environmental activists welcome China's new focus on the environment. 'As a green organisation, we see it as an evolution of the mentalities. And if more people think about green technology, so much the better.' China's strategy as a growing power in clean-energy technologies has already attracted investors from abroad, such as Warren Buffet who paid $230 million for a 9% stake in BYD. With the F3 going on sale in China later this year and set to be launched in the US within 2 years, can BYD succeed where General Motors failed?

  • @cats2006 cuz those oil company manipulated the western markets... engineers have no job back home, so many of them just went china...

  • @binzsta21 Pollution isn't just dust or particles in the air, those of what you think of are a small part of what contributes to pollution. Large part involves chemicals which are gases that are emitted that react with gases in the atmosphere. These can't be removed by filtration. For instance, smog is created from sunlight reacting with volatile chemicals in the air such as nitrogen dioxide.

  • Why wont they just build a big air filter and suck up all the pollution.

  • Fuck me, that technology surpasses Japan's hybrid technology.

  • Besides building electric car, China is now also the world largest producer of electric bicycle. If you visist any part of China townships, you can see many of these running on the roads and neighbourhood housing estates.

It's popularity has now spread over to many South East Asian countries. It is extremely friendly to use and comfortable to ride on and it is very affordable at $650/- complete with battery charger.

  • @Polyfusia A lot of western jobs went there.

  • fuck, cars run by electricity was invented so long ago. USA 'was' the superpower for so long and the gov't just didn't want their people to switch over because the country will lose so much money. No one is going to use gasoline anymore. That's the reason why they're still at war in the middle east. To look after the 'oil'.

  • huh , China is huge . lots of hard - working people who .. should stay hard working because its part of our long coutured culture.

  • @TheMiamifuentes the amount of CO2 produced per mile is significantly lower. Your the stupid one.

  • doesn't matter the battery has to be charged by oil burning factories and just about every part in that car is made of oil. so its still using gas it's just being transfered through another channel. The battery connects to energy that is run on Natural gas. unless the factory is Nuclear or solar/ wind/ water energy. it's redundant and Stupid
