I understand if you like English better or whatever discipline you do, but to me Western is my favorite. It is only by a matter of opinion, you like the discipline you ride. You create a bond with your horse like no other, from the hours of training hard, working to accomplish the goal. The feeling you get when you receive your blue ribbon in a class and know the training had finally paid of and you thank your horse knowing he gave it his all! Us Western riders are much more than Redneck and Dirty, heck, we are not even those! I do not see how people could call us that. We have feelings, and yes, we do get offended when you call us that!
This is for sugarismyhorse's little english vs. western contest!
I didnt really try to go all out and edit this :D I just wanted you to be able to see the Western riding style!
I would hopefully be on the western channel!
thanks!
I DO NOT OWN THE MUSIC!
One is NOT better than the other so please quit arguing, it's making equestrians look like a bunch of bitchy people.

If English was made first, so be it. The western saddle and way of riding was developed with the horn for roping. It would be hard to rope a steer in an English saddle, and it IS hard to jump in a western one. They both have there purposes.

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. I have ridden western for 3 years And I do have trouble with balance. I have also ridden English sparingly and balance is also a problem.

@JumpingPerfection121 Most kids have been training since the time they could walk. Nothing is easy, just like nothing is impossible. It is not impossible for your to fail at any high dressage movement. I disagree that you disagree. Each discipline has an aspect to them that is overlooked by the overall apperiance. Each discipline has a skill required by the rider and horse to know and train hard for.

@MissHorseGirl1 Okay so I've never even ridden in reining, but I already know how to do a spin. If it's easy enough for a 13 year old to do it then it's pretty easy. I gurantee you I would fail at any high level dressage movement.
I disagree that they are equal, For goodness sakes there are children's reining classes. They're aren't kids upper level dressage, it takes more time to perfect and master because there are more complex manuevers.

@volleyballlibero1996 Like you said, why do English riders move to Western? Maybe because the want more of a challenge. They is no skill diffrence or how much balance is required between the two! I have said that like 10 times already! Western teaches them natural horsemanship skills and how to train a horse. It teaches you balance because you are not allowed to use to hands! You have to have the reins so loose they are 1 foot away from the ground!
