Misguidedly believing that she is a skilled matchmaker, Emma repeatedly attempts to pair up her friends, often with dire results. Jonny Lee Miller (Endgame, Eli Stone) plays Mr. Knightley, Emma's shrewd and attractive neighbor, and Michael Gambon (Cranford) is her affectionate, neurotic father.

This is my favourite version of Emma ever! It could possibly be my favourite Jane Austen adaption yet. So good. Such wonderful actors and actresses. Amazing costumes. Such a great show. Even though I know the story I couldn't wait to see more.

I'm going to watch this soon, and though I hope it's good - after seeing Knightley at 1:15, I'm prepared for the worse. He's supposed to be the perfect model for the gentleman! The Gwyneth Paltrow version will probably always be best, because though it is feature length and NOT a mini-series, the casting and writing is so beyond superior...

Romola Garai is the perfect emma!JLM is the perfect Mr.Knightley!they have got great screen chemistry...i esp luv their dance at the ball.....acting could not have been better...perfection!!!!!!!

its fantastic, best adaptation yet, take it from someone who lives in the uk watched it in the uk recorded it in the uk and bought the dvd BBC are the uk masterpiece watch it and weep with your sloppy seconds

I cheated and watched the series on here, I couldn't wait until January. And I am so glad I did because it is fantastic. One of the best adaptations I've seen! ♥

I have seen all four episodes on BBC & love it very much. Romola Garai is my dearest Emma and all other characters are great. The end could be executed better but it is still lovely.
