  • thanks for posting this, very helpful. What's the song playing?

  • @13thScorpion "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers Band.

  • i have this kit on the way, i have a rough country 4'' lift, the only thing i dont understand is at 9:27 and on. can someone hlpe me please. i dont have adjustable control arms so what would i do to change the pinion angle?

  • You'll have to add adjustable rear upper control arms to your lift kit in order to properly install the SYE. The pinion angle adjustment must be done. There are many reasonably-priced options for those, including JKS, Currie, Rokmen, Rubicon Express...

  • It took me 6 hours or so to do this, because I am slow and methodical. Some folks claim to do it much faster than that.

  • by the way, this works for Cherokees with NP 231 as well. But mine didnt have the harmonic balancer, nor the drain plugs in the same place. Also, dont think you need to actually bother with the front driveline -- it should work the same with it connected still.

  • As for the fron driveline...it's going to be hard to get the chain off to replace the main shaft if you cant pull the front shaft back a bit. That's why you have to disconnect the front driveshaft and remove the yoke.

  • when the jeep hits a bump, the axle comes up, forcing the drive shaft somewhere. The stock "slip yoke" will go in & out of the transfer case, relieving the stress on the drive shaft. when you get at too high of a lift (4 inches or higher usually) the angle is too great for the "slip yoke" to go in & out of the transfer case. This "slip yoke eliminator kit" ELIMINATES the slip yoke part on the transfer case and instead of going in & out of the transfer case, it goes in & out of the drive shaft.

  • If youre on asphalt thats normal I also have a Detroit locker in the rear that makes a god awful noise when I turn at just the right speed in a parking lot its just hanging up

  • Great video! Think this is the best I have found. I'll have my laptop right next to me for the whole process when I do mine!

  • I just cut my shaft and taped it, took one hour to add the SYE KIT.

  • Thanks for posting this video, it is an immense help to me.

  • Awesome video, ty for taking the time to make it

  • is the shifter position adjustable on a jeep wrangler tj 2003? is so how is it done?

  • Dont know I dont think it is. If the bracket lifts the t case. You also should keep in mind cause and effect is it easer to bind the shifter or remove the bracket and modify it?

  • i was told that it is adjustable without having to melt and beld the shifter? is that true? will taking the tcase bracket off put the gear knob back into the factory position?

  • The pinion angle will make it shake or vibrate down the road through the drive Trane. some times at a given speed that can shorten the u joints life. you want a degree or 2 of miss alignment so when the rear end twists up under load as for the shifter, if the knob is removal take it and the sleeve off so you dont melt the plastic. or do this out of sight you can also remove the shaft from the jeep. heat it so you can bend it down to clear the dashboard. I have a t-18 in my cj-5 and had to
