Chapter 33: Demi

I spotted Selena on the dance floor and walked over to her and started to dance. I scanned around the room and noticed Joe talking to some of the football players, then I saw a bunch of girls throwing themselves at him. I almost choked on my drink when I saw one of them flash him; these girls were desperate, to the max. I left the dance floor and decided to grab a drink, I was so thirsty. I ordered my drink from the bartender then leaned my elbows onto the counter.
"You still owe me that dance" he said as he leaned on the counter next to me.
I smiled; he looked so good in the plain white t-shirt he was wearing, it really brought out his abs. "There are so many girls here that want to dance with you right now I don't think Ill have my chance" I said with a grin on my face.
He smiled and lifted his hand as if to touch me then dropped it again casually "I want to dance with you" he told me.
I smiled and grabbed the drink the bartender put in front of me "after this drink" I said taking a sip and putting it back down.
He laughed "deal"
"So are you having fun Joe?"
"Actually, I kinda am. It reminds me of my old school.."
"Girls flashed you at your old school?" I said in a questioning tone taking another sip of my drink.
He laughed again "I can honestly tell you, they've done more than that" he said taking another drink from his bottle.
I stared at him and wondered what the other girls could have done at parties.
"Don't worry" he said probably noticing my worried gaze "I don;t have aids or anything" he said with a laugh.
I smiled at him "Oh I'm not worried" I said taking the last sip of my drink and resting it on the counter.
"You ready to dance?" he asked me
"Sure" I said as I walked towards the dance floor, I wasn't sure how he would touch me. But oddly I wasn't really thinking about it.we walked onto the dance floor and he gently put his arms on my waist as we started to move with the beat. He was a good dancer. The dance floor was already really packed so we were already pretty close together. But a good song came on a few seconds after we got onto the floor which crammed the floor way more than what was safe I'm sure. I got pressed into Joe and he was pressed into me. Soon we weren't even dancing just stuck on each other. He smiled at me and I couldn't help but smiled back as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
He leaned into me and I thought he was going to kiss me again, I held my breath waiting for it. Instead he leaned into my ear.
"Hey, you wanna get out of here? This isn't even a dance anymore its more like a moshpit" he said laughing. I looked at him then nodded my head and he turned around and grabbed my hand then led me away from the dance floor.
"Come on Joe, I know where the back door is, we can leave from there" I said remembering how congested the front was.
He nodded and followed my lead still holding my hand. After we squeezed through more people and made our way around the furniture we finally made it outside her house. It felt good to breath in some clean air.
"Wow, that was crazy" he said letting go of my hand and walking forward.
I smiled "Parties are always like this down here"
He laughed "what do you wanna do?"
"I dunno" I replied "why don't we just go to our lake" I said with a smile on my face
He nodded and we walked to my car to leave.
