Spring Birth

My entry for Little rich poetry section. Audio by Incompetech.

A little tear upon my eye
as i am forced to say goodbye
to christmas, snow, and cosy fires
as the old season now retires

but there's a smile now on my face
as things move on to a quicker pace
kittens born on the eve of spring
seem to now happiness bring

The mother like in nature you see
has a clock thats just like spring breeze
as floors are mopped and tables cleaned
she protects her children, makes them unseen

Like the seasons they will change
grow up like thier mother, stage by stage
i look forward now, not just to spring,
but seeing kittens grow up, and what life might bring.
