the thrill of finally owning the 5d mkII was quickly replaced by the frustration that came from not being able to focus while i was filming. yesyes, super optics, BUT all the footage is unusable, shaky, blurred rubbish !

rather than give up, i decided to try and work out how to use the camera's flaws as benefits. which is how i came to be half way up a mountain in the middle of the jungle yesterday afternoon, chasing ants up and down a wobbly branch.

hand holding with a macro lens with a focal range of about half a centimetremight seem like madness in theory. but in practice, well... i think the outcome, while a bit dull, is dreamy and beautiful.

enjoy the meditation.

  • I was planning to say something about the focus but then I read your note. Looks nice, though.
