Puyallup WA December 20, 2004. An elderly driver backed out of a parking space and managed to go at exactly the right angle and drive through the entrance doors of the store. Going nearly 200 feet inside, hitting Christmas shoppers. The car was stopped by debris from merchadise the was hit and caught up underneath the vehicle. Also sopping the car was it being wedged up against a support column by the jewelry department.

The driver claimed the accelerator began stuck. Other witness claimed the the driver had argued with store employees before this happened.

The state patrol impounded the Town car for testing. I do not know what the results were, and if the driver was charged with anything.

  • Old people should not be on the road.

  • I own a 1988 Lincoln Town Car and I love it. It rides so smooth and purrs like a cat. It comes as no suprise to me that the old ladys car went through the front of the store so easily with light to medium damage. It was the first full size car to get 5 star safety ratings across the board and it has an overall gross weight of 5000 lbs. Take that new small cars! (minus mileage lol)

  • This is why the elderly shouldn't drive. Some are all good, but once you can't move your neck to check blind spots, you're a threat to all others around you. tisk tisk..

  • i got me a blue 86 towncar with the crome trim down the sides. Gona make a bumber sticker that reads 'Your Car is My Cars Air Bag" lol
