It's hard to evaluate the acting because that speech will forever be Peter Finch's. I'm happy to watch it again in this video. An 'A' for content choice. Network won 4 Oscars: best screenplay + 3 for acting. It totally nailed the television industry, and it ought to be in more heavy circulation. Cheers.

Heard the passion in your voice. I think there's a lot of that character in all of us. We all "lose it" just a little more with each backwards step our societies make. To be content with this world, to stay completely sane and accept that THIS is the absolute BEST we can do...well...to me THAT is insanity.
